NT89 is really blending the EDM airwaves in his favor. 2011 saw multiple NT89 releases, almost all ended up being supported by the greats of this time.

NT89 isn’t slowing down in 2012. Yesterday this 2nd EP of 2012 saw the light of day. Voices contains three tracks and is released on Fool’s Gold. Thanks to early pre-release support by the likes of Crookers, the web is sizziling around this NT89 release.

A longside the Voices EP, NT89 also dropped a new mix which contains sounds by Boys Noize, Tiga, Kill Frenzy, Maelstrom and Ego Troopers. Naturally Voices in all his beauty is part of this 1hr mix spectacle.

Quite an interesting story behind this duo from Belgium. Ego Troopers is Oli and Mozes, they met via a mutual friend on Facebook. Beside a friendship, Ego Troopers was born.

An edit of Bach’s Toccata in D Minor (listen) was their breakthrough. Soulwax loved it and asked if they could use it in their intro during Soulwaxmas back in ’10. Besides small gigs in local venue’s, Soulwaxmas was their first big gig ever. Can you imagine? DJing your first gig alongside Busy P, Erol Alkan, Paul Chambers. Major!

Recently Ego Troopers released their first EP on Blood Music, which is already getting support from the likes of Fake Blood, Djedjotronic and Boris Dlugosch. Recently Belgium radio aired an exclusive Ego Troopers mix. A 30 min’ piece of techno / electro music which doesn’t disappoint at all. Go ahead and give it a listen below!

It’s going down this Friday at Bitterzoet this Friday. UK-focused party Boycott welcomes Hostage and Warrior One, for a night of triple A-bass music!

As the movie above explains, this will be the first Boycott at Bitterzoet. With Hostage, Warrior One and Guerilla Speakerz behing the decks, it will be a night to remember.

Just recently Hostage released a new mix, in which he put all his love for pizza. If you want to have a slice of this gourmet highlight then head over to the Hostage’s Pizza Party Mix.

Guerilla Speakerz are an infamous and highly energetic duo from Amsterdam who have a whole lotta lovin for all things bass. This latest Guerilla Speakerz mix is mixed at the Red Bull Music Studio and celebrates the new Boycott Location.

Music used in the movie is the Guerilla Speakerz track “Holla”, soon to be released on King Pigeon Records.

A lot going on for Hostage in the past weeks. Multiple remixes released, one of them is for Trouble & Bass soldier Star Eyes (preview). At the end of last month his latest production, Listen EP, was released on Black Butter Records. Online dance platform Data Transmission rated it with a whopping 9 out of 10 (read).

Besides big basslines, this bearded Scotsman loves pizza. Combine these two together and it’s pizza party time! Toppings provided by the likes of Crookers, Keith & Superbeatz, AC Slater and Sound of Stereo. Don’t forget to wash your hands before dinner.  Jum Jum!

In the last weekend of January BBC Radio One had yet another take-over event. This time a four day broadcast which provided a sick line-up that put a smile on all the ravers in this northern city. Names included Redlight, Jack Beats, Joker, Sub Focus, Hudson Mohawke and Knife Party.

Knife Party, the Pendulum side project of Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, is currently big in the clubs with the Swedish House Mafia collabo mash-up ‘Antidote’ track. Listen to the Tommy Trash remix underneath.

Not long ago I featured a liveset of Riton recorded in The Loft, Barcelona. In my search for some info about this London based DJ & producer, I stumbled upon a 6 month old mix by the name of I Love The Future.

The short version is about 30 minutes, but Riton also made an extended version so to say. An 1 hr mix put together with the utmost care and crammed with tunes spanning from house to garage to electro. Really enjoyed both versions. Via the Mightyfools Kick-Off 2012 mixtape, which I featured last week on BimTaks.com, I stumble upon the sounds of London DJ & producer Tommy Trash.

Judging by his touring roster, Tommy Trash fans are all over the world. In almost two months Tommy visits almost all major cities in North-America. Showcasing his accessible electro sound in NYC, Las Vegas, Chicago, Toronto and Washington to name a few. Of course stopping at the Miami for a few shows at the WMC.

Besides own productions, this 1hr+ mix contains tracks and remixes by the likes of Skrillex and Dada Life, but also Nicky Romero and Hardwell. When listening to it I’m thinking Steve Aoki and Laidback Luke. It’s housemusic for the masses, with a few trips to electro and back. And then some more! You digg? In other words: crank this mix up. Wow, such exciting news. Skrillex won three Grammy’s last night. Amazing! Not only for him, but also for EDM in general. With Tiesto and David Guetta, dance music really hit mainstream in the US. But with Skrillex winning three Grammy’s last night, the acceptance of dance music is risen to a new level. Good times!
