News of today is the Megaupload affair. If this is a precursor of what can be expected when SOPA get’s thru, we’re in for one hell of a ride. This historic event, which toke place yesterday, is the start of a new era and most likely the first in many take-downs.

How will these actions effect BimTaks.com? Luckily I’m a major fan of Soundcloud and Mixcloud, thus most of the content is save. But some posts link to downloads at Megaupload, these links will be dead. I’ll try to replace as many as I can. With that said, let’s get back to business!

The featured mix of today is by Australian DJ / producer Philly Blunt! On the 14th of January he started the 15 days of Fury campaign; 15 tracks in 15 days! Today he combined three Hit The Road Jack remixes and turned it into a Philly Blunt edit! (Listen).

Something a Little Different Mix 2

Interesting things happend on day 6, Philly Blunt released a mixtape instead of a track. This mix contains tunes by Switch, Detboi, Foreign Beggars, Green Velvet, Foamo, Micky Slim, Chocolate Puma and more. This is sweet!

Update: While rounding up this post, the news reached me that the Chief Sponser of SOPA, Lamar Smith, is pulling the bill. More on this subject at one of my favorite tech sites: Mashable.
